Notes/Tips for Converting Fractions, Decimals, and Percents

Convert a Fraction to a Decimal – Divide the Numerator by the Denominator

Convert a Decimal to a Fraction – Numerator – Digits to the RIGHT of the decimal point become the numerator of the fraction
Denominator – place value of the right most digit becomes the denominator

Ex. .25 ———> 25 becomes the numerator, as those are the digits right of the decimal
100 becomes the denominator, as the right most digit (5) is in the hundredths place. 25/100

Convert a Decimal to a Percent – Move the decimal point to the right twice —–> .10 become 10.%

Convert a Percent to a Decimal – Move the decimal point to the left twice —–> 95.% becomes .95
